Our activities
PANNONGREEN Kft. operates the largest biomass-fuelled power plant unit of Central Europe. The fluidized bed boiler with 49.9 MWe/185/200 t/h installed capacity is fuelled with woodchips, woodworking by-products and agricultural by-products, because we believe that the use of renewable energy sources is the basis of sustainable development and for Pécs to become more livable.
Our woodchip-fuelled boiler was inaugurated in 2004. An existing coal-fuelled boiler was converted to become suitable for the fluidized sand-bed technology which is able to produce as much as 185 tons of steam per hour. A video animation of the boiler’s operation is available on our website, thus instead of further details we would like to only add that the boiler meeting 40% of the entire heat demand of the municipality of Pécs has a cutting-edge technology and besides its cost-effective, highly-efficient operation it fully complies with the environmental requirements as well.
